WHAT A GREAT BABY SHOWER IDEA! GIFT THE GIFT OF DOULA!

Inspiring other woman to find and achieve their very own desired birth experience is my ambition. My passion, training and experience all play a very important role in my duties as a birth doula. My goal is to provide women with birthing information, alternatives and support so that they may have a confident and joyous birth experience. I am trained and certified through DONA International and Dancing for Birth™. I offer Natural Childbirth Classes in a 4-part series and weekly Dancing for Birth Classes. Please see the pages for details.

I advocate as close to a natural birth as possible, but do not force the idea. I am familiar with the various “methods” of childbirth. However, my services are provided with an open mind and heart. I will respect each mothers birth plan and method, or non-method, as her very own.

I am a very blessed wife and proud mother of four. I enjoy gardening, painting and cooking. I will continue in the commitment to distant learning within the birthing community. As each birth experience passes, I become more enriched in the awareness of birth... and hope to share that enlightenment with each new experience!

"Birth is not only about making babies.

Birth is about making mothers ~

  strong, competent, capable mothers

 who trust themselves and

  know their inner strength"

~ Barbara Katz Rothman

I'm Sileah Brock, a doula and midwife assistant working to give hope for women to achieve their dreams in birth. My love for helping others began young, always tending to my six siblings, where I fall right in the middle, and spending most of my years in high school working at a daycare with children. My desire to empower others began when I started on my journey away from home, out in the real world. I dove deep into a degree in nutrition, only to find that I gravitated towards helping moms be healthy during pregnancy. When doula work found me, I was hooked. I spent a year working on an organic farm with my husband. The owner of the farm was pregnant and taught me a lot about trusting yourself. She invited me to her birth. This began my work as a doula. I also travel to teach bible classes and saw the culture change globally. I saw the tight-knit communities surrounding each other since they had little else. Holding tight to each other in deep respect and roots, they still seek to have knowledge in subjects that we are blessed to have easy access to. I enjoy to spend time with mothers and be able to share this same bond, worlds away from the countries that I traveled to, but still showing respect that is universal. I believe we were created as women to birth our babies and I am honored to sit with a woman in labor and empower her in finding her strength to push her baby out. I really enjoy showing partners how to find their importance in birth and help them find their place if they desire to be present. My belief is that a doulas role is to allow a woman to feel comfortable enough to laugh or cry on our shoulder. Birth is a beautiful moment that will never be forgotten, and a doula is privileged to share it.
